This project is from the infamous "Get a Grip" assignment done by every Parsons second year product design major. My group, @e.vaw and @kamildxb, decided to break down the effectiveness of a hand sander and find out how we could make it better. We noticed a lot of the typical hand sanders had one designated handle that requires a lot of joint and wrist tension to be help for it to be used effectively. Therefore, with feed back from many different users we can to the conclusion to make a free form shaped sander that can be held multiple ways and could be easier to use just with the use of your bicep muscles pushing of the sander. We also decided to get rid of the extra components and just make the sandpaper sick to the sander with velcro.
i learned a lot about user testing from this project as well as the importance of sketch models and team work. I am overall very happy with our results and am glad we chose the tool we did.
