kenna designed . . . “the k chair”

This was a 6 week project I completed for my sophomore studio class. We had to pick a client and design a chair to suit their needs. My client was technically myself but I had a bigger vision for my piece!! Growing up I often got things personalized with my name, initial, or monogram on them because my name isn’t very common. Most of these things were clothing or accessory items but how amazing would it be if you had a piece of furniture that added a personalized touch to any space! That’s where I came up with my idea for “the k chair,” in the future I can see this piece being available with every letter of the alphabet, several color options, and a child’s version made for schools and nurseries. I constricted this chair out of plywood and made/assembled/and painted it myself and am really happy with out it turned out!!! P.S. it glows in the dark 😜

Below you can see a glimpse of my process over the course of this five week project. Included are my initial sketches, more detail ideations, orthographic drawings, marketability, and my final product.
