kenna designed . . . Half United spring 2018 line
In the summer on 2018 I interned for a give back brand called Half United. This company was founded by a brother and sister who have a passion for helping those in need. They came up with the idea of starting a business centered around feeding people in need around the world. They combine their passions and created a line of bullet necklaces back in 2009 that represented their supporters fight against hunger. From there their company quickly grew taking the world by storm and quickly gaining fame by appearing on the Today Show and other mass media outlets.
That summer I severed as Half United's lead design intern that help Carmin Black, one of the co-founders, design the entire spring collection from the ground up. I gained so much experience about decision making, design developing, analyzing current trends, as well as the physical product making process. While there I also was in charge of creating Hal United's current Fall and Holiday line sheet, running their social media, updating their website, and photographing all of the content we used. To top it all off I got to accompany Carmin and Christian to a trade show at AmericasMart in Atlanta Georgia for an entire week that summer. There I got to see the whole design to business process come full circle as I helped sell out products to wholesale accounts.
